About HutchFest

HutchFest is a music festival born from eating breakfast at Jill’s Diner, driving on county roads with the windows down, spending long nights on 4th Street, and doing work in the yard on Saturday afternoons.

The idea for HutchFest grew from years of hard work and a deep belief in giving back to keep things rollin' in Columbus. It’s about looking forward to the weekend, jammin’ to rock n' roll anthems that make you want to yell, and chillin’ to love songs that make you want to cry.

HutchFest is about having the right attitude and being generous in your community. So get your crew together and come out to one or both nights!

Who is Hutch?

This shindig is named after Hutch Schumaker, a local legend about supporting the community and the arts. So, you’re not just there to have a blast; you’re also pitching in for a good cause, helping to keep local culture alive and kicking. Funds raised for this event will support the Crump Theatre, Landmark Columbus Foundation, and the Miller House and Garden.

Right: Hutch and his wife, Kevina Schumaker, at HutchFest 2023.

The Miller House is one of the most important mid-century modern residences in the country, often mentioned alongside Fallingwater, The Glass House, and The Farnsworth House as America’s best examples of residential modernism. This hallmark of modern design showcases the talents of architect Eero Saarinen, designer Alexander Girard, and landscape architect Dan Kiley.
